A mobile week 9

I hope you’ve all had a good Easter break. My trip to Berlin was quite productive; managed to visit and do some useful fieldwork in five museums: The GDR museum (a museum about the everyday life in in the German Democratic Republic); the Checkpoint Charlie and the nearby Haus am Checkpoint Charlie Museum, the Pergamon Museum, the Deutsches Historisches Museum and the Jewish Museum. They have all been very interesting case studies regarding their use of new media in their exhibitions and I will be reflecting on this in a separate post.

But, for the time being, I am looking forward to tomorrow’s session at the Museum of Science and Industry, where we will have the chance to hear from Pauline Webb and Nigel Linge about the development of ‘mi-Guide’, a handheld computer for the new Communications Gallery and also have a go with it. So, week 9 is quite mobile…
